A DELECTABLE SERVING OF TASTY CLICKS, HOT TAKES, NUGGETS AND OTHER JUICY TREATS! A Tasty Treats Podcast |
In August, we did a show on Facebook’s CSS System, StyleX. At the time we had a single conference talk to go off.
Last night, Facebook fully released StyleX—a Framework-agnostic approach for modular and inline styles. If you have ever viewed source on Facebook, Instagram, or Threads, you’ll notice the output is similar to Tailwind, but the authoring is different.
Pretty interesting! Lots of opinions flying. We will cover it in an upcoming show.
🍬 Webamp.org
It’s the greatest MP3 player ever made but in the browser, open source, and built in TypeScript! Worth having a peek at the source code.
🍬 DrizzleORM
High-performance TypeScript ORM that works w/ most databases.
🍬 Poor Charlie’s Almanack
Awesome inspiration for a typography-based site.
🔥 “Bundle-less” in the browser is straight up loading ESM Javascript Modules in the browser without a build step.
We’re having Brian Leroux on in a few weeks to talk about why he does this.
In the meantime, here are a few recent Tweets about it being a performance dog:
- Devon Govett of Parcel
- RSPack on how they can’t make it work
- Guillermo Rauch on how Next.js Tried it
